Rouse<\/strong>, Crimson Staff Writer<\/p>\n<p><em>People classify biracial children as members of the minority parent group<\/em><\/p>\n<p>People have the tendency to classify those of biracial descent as members of their minority parent group rather than as equal members of both races, according to a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=10789\" target=\"_blank\">recent study published<\/a> by Harvard psychologists.<\/p>\n<p>The study, led by Harvard psychology graduate student <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sidaniuslab.com\/gpage1.html\" target=\"_blank\">Arnold K. Ho<\/a> and co-authored by Harvard Professors <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sidaniuslab.com\/sidanius.html\" target=\"_blank\">James Sidanius<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.people.fas.harvard.edu\/~banaji\" target=\"_blank\">Mahzarin R. Banaji<\/a> and Vanderbilt Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanderbilt.edu\/psychological_sciences\/levin\" target=\"_blank\">Daniel T. Levin<\/a>, employed computer generated faces of varying ethnicities and fictional family trees to test people\u2019s intuitive racial classifications.<\/p>\n<p>Study results suggest that participants classified half-white and half-minority persons as part of a minority.
