‘MOsley WOtta’ Transcends Boundaries Of Music, Poetry And Art<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a good year for Bend\u2019s<\/a> MOsley WOtta<\/a>.\u00a0 The hip-hop<\/a> group played shows around the state, opening for acts such as Ice Cube<\/a> and Tricky<\/a>.\u00a0 The band plans to close out this year with a New Year\u2019s Eve show in Bend. That\u2019s where the band will unveil its third official release, titled Amalgum X<\/em>. Bend isn\u2019t typically thought of for it\u2019s hip hop scene. But MOsley WOtta isn\u2019t your typical hip hop group.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo matter where you come from, what era you come from, there is some kind of music inside of hip hop that will grab you,” says Bend artist MOsley WOtta.<\/p>\n

\u201cLight skin, blue blood, gentlemen and ladies, girls and boys, this is that love, pain, grow, if you are living and breathing right now.\u00a0 You know exactly what I\u2019m talking about.\u201d MOsley WOtta is the alter ego of 28 year old Jason Graham.\u00a0 It\u2019s also the band that Graham fronts…<\/p>\n

…\u201cI think he\u2019s a classic artist, a classic creative brain.\u00a0 You might meet artists and creative people who are introverted or socially awkward.\u00a0 This is not that case,\u201d says Salmon. Up on stage, Jason Graham is in his comfort zone.\u00a0\u00a0 But growing up biracial in the 1980 he says he\u2019s always kind of felt as if he lived between worlds.\u00a0 He was born in what he describes as a somewhat rough neighborhood in Chicago and moved to Bend at age 9.\u00a0 These days he\u2019s tough to miss.\u00a0 He\u2019s tall, lanky and exudes energy.\u00a0\u00a0 Graham says sometimes people don\u2019t quite know what to make of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe people come up and they\u2019re like so are you Mexican?\u00a0 Are you Filipino?\u00a0 Indian right?\u00a0 That is just like with the music, I do see a total correlation there.\u00a0 Between it\u2019s like well it\u2019s not exactly one thing.\u00a0 And it never will be one thing, cause I\u2019m not one thing,\u201d says Graham…<\/p>\n
