By now, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.census.gov\/newsroom\/releases\/archives\/population\/cb12-90.html\" target=\"_blank\">more than half the babies born in the US belong to a racial or ethnic minority.<\/a> The US Census Bureau has confirmed what was clear ever since the 2000 census, where 49.8 per cent of infants under one were members of a minority \u2014 more than a quarter was Hispanic, 13.6 per cent blacks and 4.2 per cent Asian. Almost one in 20 births was a mixed-race baby.
