Choices that one person makes can have a domino and long lasting effect on his or her family and friends. This study focuses on: <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=2508\" target=\"_blank\">Passing<\/a><\/em> by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nella_Larsen\" target=\"_blank\">Nella Larsen<\/a>, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=22648\" target=\"_blank\">The Autobiography of an Ex-Coloured Man<\/a><\/em> by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Weldon_Johnson\" target=\"_blank\">James Weldon Johnson<\/a>, &#8220;Passing,&#8221; by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Langston_Hughes\" target=\"_blank\">Langston Hughes<\/a>, and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=25685\" target=\"_blank\">Comedy: American Style<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=8599\" target=\"_blank\">Plum Bun<\/a><\/em> both by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jessie_Redmon_Fauset\" target=\"_blank\">Jessie Fauset<\/a>. This thesis discusses if the family and friends have knowledge of the passing, if they had a voice in the novel, and if the children had knowledge of their heritage.
