Jones<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Chowan Discovery presentations about the Winton Triangle, its <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/American_Civil_War\" target=\"_blank\">Civil War<\/a> history and Chowan Discovery historical markers attracted many enthusiastic attendees at the annual conference of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aahgs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Afro-American Genealogical and Historical Society<\/a> (AAGHS) in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greensboro,_North_Carolina\" target=\"_blank\">Greensboro<\/a>. Included in the audiences were history professionals and authors.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nOne of the joys of having three presentations at the conference was that the reputation of each lecture fed the attendance of the next.\u00a0 This also gave more people the opportunity to hear about our work.\u00a0 And then there are those increased sales of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=18213\" target=\"_blank\">Carolina Genesis<\/a> and the CDG mugs.\u00a0 Hawking those mugs are fun, whether they sell or not \u2013 and they sold.\u00a0 I enjoyed all of questions and comments.<\/p>\n<p>Among the participants, I saw growing awareness about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=7933\" target=\"_blank\">tri-racial people<\/a> and free people of color in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/North_Carolina\" target=\"_blank\">North Carolina<\/a> at the conference.\u00a0 This is an important trend for our mission&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Read the entire article <a href=\"http:\/\/chowandiscovery.org\/2012\/10\/15\/three-winton-triangle-presentations-at-greensboro-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Three Winton Triangle Presentations at Greensboro conference.
