Taniguchi<\/strong>, McNair Scholar<br \/>\n<em>Washington State University<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/libarts.wsu.edu\/women\/faculty\/lh.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Linda Heidenreich<\/strong><\/a>, Chair and Associate Professor<br \/>\nDepartment of Women&#8217;s Studies<br \/>\n<em>Washington State University<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The term <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=329\" target=\"_blank\">Hapa<\/a> is Hawaiian in origin and roughly means \u2018half\u2019.
