Meet the legendary <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arthur_Wharton\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Arthur Wharton<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Arthur Wharton was born on 28 October 1865 in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Accra\" target=\"_blank\">Accra<\/a>, formerly the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gold_Coast_(British_colony)\" target=\"_blank\">Gold Coast<\/a>, now capital of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ghana\" target=\"_blank\">Ghana<\/a>, West Africa.<\/p>\n<p>His father, Henry Wharton was a famous Methodist Minister and Missionary from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grenada\" target=\"_blank\">Grenada<\/a> in the West Indies and his mother was Annie Florence Egyriba, was related to the Fante Royal Family.<\/p>\n<p>Both of Arthur&#8217;s paternal grandfather&#8217;s were Scottish traders.
