For example, if you\u2019re black that\u2019s meaningless unless you specify <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bantu_peoples\" target=\"_blank\">Bantu<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hutu\" target=\"_blank\">Hutu<\/a>\/<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tutsi\" target=\"_blank\">Tutsi<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bushmen\" target=\"_blank\">San<\/a>, or any number of other lineages within Africa. Africa has the biggest human variety in the world.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barack_Obama\" target=\"_blank\">Obama<\/a> looks totally different from the rest of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Congressional_Black_Caucus\" target=\"_blank\">Black Caucus<\/a>; it\u2019s because he is. He belongs to a different biological lineage. He\u2019s not a Bantu. But most American blacks are mixed-race, of course, like Obama himself.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, if you&#8217;re pure Irish, your race is <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gaels\" target=\"_blank\">Gaelic<\/a>. If you\u2019re Irish-English, you\u2019re Gaelic-Caucasian or something close to that. If you look blond, you\u2019re likely to be a Northern European. If you\u2019re Jewish but you look like a Russian, you are Semitic-Nordic-Slavic. If you\u2019re Jewish and you look like a Spaniard, you\u2019re Semitic-Hispanic. If you\u2019re Jewish from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yemen\" target=\"_blank\">Yemen<\/a>, you\u2019re probably Semitic-Arabic. If you\u2019re a pure <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/cohen\" target=\"_blank\">cohen<\/a>, you\u2019re Semitic back some 3,000 years, especially if you have heritable diseases like <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tay%E2%80%93Sachs_disease\" target=\"_blank\">Tay-Sachs<\/a>. But of course going earlier than that, there are plenty of generations back to the human population bottleneck in North Africa, where humans were reduced to some 5,000 individuals.
