Rouse<\/a><\/strong>, Professor of Anthropology<\/p>\n<p>In 1998, then-<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bill_Clinton\" target=\"_blank\">President Clinton<\/a> set a national goal that by the year 2010 race, ethnic, and gender disparities in six disease categories would be eliminated. While the agenda, called <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Healthy_People_program#Healthy_People_2010\" target=\"_blank\">Healthy People 2010<\/a>, was a noble effort, many of the goals were not met. This course examines what went wrong.
