(Though the joy of the exuberant lady sitting next to this one is hard to match. And reason enough to watch <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/white-supremacist-craig-cobb-told-he-is-14-african-in-televised-dna-test-8934797.html\" target=\"_blank\">this video<\/a> more than once.) In any event, I get why this video of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Craig_Cobb\" target=\"_blank\">Craig Cobb<\/a>, the would-be founder of an all-white town in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/North_Dakota\" target=\"_blank\">North Dakota<\/a>, finding out on a TV show that a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/DNA\" target=\"_blank\">DNA<\/a> test indicates that he is \u201c14% sub-Saharan African\u201d has gone viral.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the talk-showification of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Molecular_biology\" target=\"_blank\">molecular biology<\/a> is really never a good thing, especially when that molecular biology is supposed to tell us things about \u201crace.\u201d (And let\u2019s face it, \u201crace\u201d is pretty much the only way molecular biologists get any pop-culture shine.) <strong>Problem is, the idea that Cobb is 14% African rests on the assumption that there is such a thing as 100% \u201cAfrican,\u201d or 100% \u201cEuropean.\u201d&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Read the entire article <a href=\"http:\/\/africasacountry.com\/who-gets-the-last-laugh-again\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who gets the last laugh, again?
