Ben-Zion initiated the project in 2009 by contacting an online parent group in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Washington_Heights,_Manhattan\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Heights<\/a>, her <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manhattan\" target=\"_blank\">Manhattan<\/a> neighborhood, inviting couples who define themselves as &#8220;mixed&#8221; to participate.
