The name of the evil, racism, reinforces prejudices, even when it\u2019s used to fight the reality it designates, because it originated from the erroneous imposition of racial divisions on the human race and carries it implicitly.<\/p>\n<p>Cuba has a special and honorable responsibility in cultivating an enlightening legacy \u2013 there have been some \u2013 the one that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jos%C3%A9_Mart%C3%AD\" target=\"_blank\">Jos\u00e9 Mart\u00ed<\/a> bequeathed to this country and to the world as part of his thinking, more than a hundred years before science proved, with discoveries related to the human genome, that humanity is one only, regardless of external differences among its members. In <em><a href=\"http:\/\/bibliotecavirtual.clacso.org.ar\/ar\/libros\/osal\/osal27\/14Marti.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Nuestra Am\u00e9rica<\/a><\/em> (<em>Our America<\/em>), an essay published in January 1891, Mart\u00ed categorically and with good reason denied the existence of races among humans.
