Do you\/have you identified as \u201cmixed race\u201d, \u201cmultiracial\u201d, or with other \u201cmixed\u201d self-identifications (i.e. biracial, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=451\" target=\"_blank\">mulatto<\/a>, eurasian, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=329\" target=\"_blank\">happa<\/a>, creole etc.)? Do other people identify you as \u201cmixed\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>I am looking for residents in the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Edmonton_Capital_Region\" target=\"_blank\">Edmonton area<\/a> to participate in life story interviews who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>are 40-60 years of age<\/li>\n<li>are of mixed racial parentage<\/li>\n<li>were born in Canada <em>or<\/em> have been in Canada since the 1970s<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am conducting a project on mixed race identity for my doctoral dissertation in the Department of Sociology at the University of Alberta. The purpose of the project is to explore respondents\u2019 experiences growing up and living as \u201cmixed race\u201d during the multicultural era in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Interviews will involve a minimum of two sittings, each taking at least 1 to 1.5 hours \u2013 for a total time commitment of 2 to 3 hours.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to be part of this study or have questions, please contact <a href=\"mailto:paragg@ualberta.ca?subject=via MixedRaceStudies.org\" target=\"_blank\">paragg@ualberta.ca<\/a> (by March at the latest).
