How does race figure into scientific research, clinical practice, and the development and use of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals? And what can we learn from historical investigations into race that will inform today\u2019s scientific and medical inquiries?<\/p>\n<p>These are among the complex questions that will be addressed by panels of experts during the April 11 symposium, <a href=\"https:\/\/africana.sas.upenn.edu\/future-race-and-science-regression-or-revolution\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cThe Future of Race: Regression or Revolution?\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The event is being co-hosted by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.upenn.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Penn<\/a>\u2019s new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.programonracescienceandsociety.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Program on Race, Science and Society<\/a> (PRSS), which is based in the <a href=\"https:\/\/africana.sas.upenn.edu\/center\" target=\"_blank\">Center for Africana Studies<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.penn.museum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Penn Museum<\/a>. The Center for Africana Studies is also co-sponsoring the symposium.
