Pellegrini<\/strong><\/a>, Adjunct Assistant Professor of English<br \/>\n<em>Pierce College, Woodland Hills, California<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I have this peculiar, twofold, scrambled-egg relationship with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.isr.umich.edu\/home\/diversity\/resources\/white-privilege.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack<\/a>,\u201d the oft-quoted, seminal article written by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Peggy_McIntosh\" target=\"_blank\">Peggy McIntosh<\/a> in the late 1980s.<\/p>\n<p>That is to say, I have been a student in college classes where McIntosh\u2019s article was cited and discussed, classes in which I was perceived and treated as a white male oppressor.
