Chang<\/a> wrote an essay that detailed why she tells her mixed-race son that he\u2019s Asian and not white, many readers were surprised \u2014some were downright offended\u2014that she would deny him his \u201cwhiteness.\u201d These reactions led Sharon\u2014who herself is mixed-race\u2014to write a follow-up essay aptly titled \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=36848\" target=\"_blank\">Why Mixed with White isn&#8217;t White<\/a>.\u201d Naturally, I had to feature her on <a href=\"http:\/\/charlenesayo.com\/msrepresent-podcast\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>MsRepresent: Behind the Face, a Fierce Woman<\/em><\/a>.
