But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mo-asumang-management.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mo Asumang<\/a> had a different impulse: \u201cI don\u2019t want to hide \u2014 it\u2019s not my nature.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Asumang \u2014 who is half-German and half-Ghanaian \u2014 came into the public eye during the 1990s as one of the first black women on German television. More recently, the actress and presenter became the target of right-wing extremists and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neo-Nazism\" target=\"_blank\">neo-Nazis<\/a> simply for being a person of color on television.<\/p>\n<p>One particularly jarring threat came via song \u2014 a track titled \u201cThis Bullet Is For You, Mo Asumang\u201d by the German white-power band White Aryan Rebels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course I get emails from neo-Nazis, and they are really awful,\u201d she says. \u201cI don\u2019t want to mention what they write.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But instead of shying away from her attackers, Asumang decided to confront them directly. \u201cI thought, \u2018Who are these people? How do they react when they meet me?\u2019&#8221; she says.<\/p>\n<p>She filmed those confrontations as part of an upcoming documentary called &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.the-aryans.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Aryans<\/a>.&#8221; The title references the attacks against her, which are based on her \u201cnon-Aryan\u201d identity.
