The real issue is why we are still talking about racial authenticity at all.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy feeling on this\u2014and it\u2019s backed up by several interviews with Seahawks players\u2014is that some of the black players think Wilson isn&#8217;t black enough,\u201d Mike Freeman <a href=\"http:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/2238790-mike-freemans-10-point-stance-another-wr-learns-not-to-disrespect-the-qb\" target=\"_blank\">writes at <em>Bleacher Report<\/em><\/a>, reporting on tensions between just-traded teammate <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Percy_Harvin\" target=\"_blank\">Percy Harvin<\/a> and Wilson, including a locker room reportedly divided into pro\/con camps.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an issue that extends outside of football, into African-American society\u2014though it&#8217;s gotten better recently,\u201d Freeman writes. \u201cWell-spoken blacks are seen by some other blacks as not completely black. Some of this is at play.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cAm I Black Enough?\u201d racial authenticity card is a recurring theme in the lives of black athletes in particular, and black people in general.
