Watching Lacey Schwartz\u2019s thought-provoking documentary <a href=\"http:\/\/www.littlewhiteliethefilm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Little White Lie<\/em><\/a>\u2014 now in limited release and airing on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pbs.org\" target=\"_blank\">PBS<\/a> March 23\u2014I was reminded of this formative experience, the wisdom of these seemingly competing messages and the diverse range of biracial narratives out there.<\/p>\n<p><em>Little White Lie<\/em> traces the story of Schwartz\u2019s discovery of her mixed-race heritage after 18 years believing she was the product of two white, Jewish parents. After submitting a photo of herself with her undergraduate application to Georgetown and being contacted by their black student alliance, she begins to question the story she\u2019s been told about who she is and that of her parents\u2019 picture-perfect marriage.
