And when Nitty\u2019s not creating new music, working on a video project for her mixtape <em>The Art of Chill<\/em>, or preparing for her NBA All-Star Weekend performance, where she\u2019ll be opening for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Drake_(rapper)\" target=\"_blank\">Drake<\/a>, she\u2019s emailing fans about mental health and bringing up issues of sexism, sexuality and sexual orientation during <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hot97.com\/news\/new-hot97\/nitty-scott-reveals-steamy-past-kendrick-lamar-speaks-her-sexuality-video\" target=\"_blank\">interviews<\/a> with New York\u2019s <em>Hot 97<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>This is a lot for any artist, but especially for a 24-year-old working without a manager or record label support. Somehow, the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michigan\" target=\"_blank\">Michigan<\/a>-born, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Orlando,_Florida\" target=\"_blank\">Orlando<\/a>-raised and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brooklyn\" target=\"_blank\">Brooklyn<\/a> resident is doing it (and killin\u2019 it!), making her an inspirational Latina and all-around badass.<\/p>\n<p>Take a read and find out for yourself:&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8230;What do you hope your music can accomplish?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On an individual level, I want what most artists want: to find themselves through their art, express themselves uninhibitedly and be able to make a living off of that as well. Once the music takes me where it needs to, I want to break into more philanthropic, humanitarian efforts. Music is the medium and the vessel that will carry me to the level of influence I need to make the world better, as clich\u00e9 as it sounds.
