Giuliani<\/a> of New York on Thursday defended his assertion that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barack_Obama\" target=\"_blank\">President Obama<\/a> did not love America, and said that his criticism of Mr. Obama\u2019s upbringing should not be considered racist because the president was <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ann_Dunham\" target=\"_blank\">raised by \u201ca white mother.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Giuliani\u2019s remarks \u2014 made at a New York fund-raising event for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Scott_Walker_(politician)\" target=\"_blank\">Gov. Scott Walker<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wisconsin\" target=\"_blank\">Wisconsin<\/a> on Wednesday night and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/story\/2015\/02\/rudy-giuliani-president-obama-doesnt-love-america-115309.html?hp=c4_3\" target=\"_blank\">first reported by <em>Politico<\/em><\/a> \u2014 set off an uproar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president loves America,\u201d Mr. Giuliani said at the event. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t love you. And he doesn\u2019t love me.
