Frey<\/strong><\/a>, Senior Fellow, Metropolitan Policy Program<\/p>\n<p>The fastest growing racial group in the country is those who identify themselves as \u201ctwo or more\u201d races. Yet, perhaps most encouraging, as discussed in my book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=38424\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Diversity Explosion<\/em><\/a>, is the rise in the population that identifies itself as both white and black. The racial divide in the United States has been so stark that it was not until the 2000 Census that federal statistics allowed multiracial status.
