Described in local media as a &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.japantoday.com\/category\/lifestyle\/view\/haafu-to-represent-japan-at-miss-universe-2015\" target=\"_blank\">saishoku kenbi<\/a>,&#8221; a woman blessed with both intelligence and beauty, she holds a 5th degree mastery of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Japanese_calligraphy\" target=\"_blank\">Japanese calligraphy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But <a href=\"http:\/\/kotaku.com\/the-face-of-japan-is-changing-but-some-arent-ready-1691234262\" target=\"_blank\">reaction<\/a> to her win has been both positive and negative, with some people questioning whether a multiracial person can truly represent Japan.
