A graduate of Wesleyan (after transferring from Wellesley), she is a published essayist (\u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cambridgescholars.com\/writing-out-of-limbo-19\" target=\"_blank\">Checked Baggage: Writing <em>Unpacked<\/em><\/a>,\u201d \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/scholarworks.sjsu.edu\/aaldp\/vol3\/iss1\/13\/\" target=\"_blank\">Transforming <em>Three Sisters<\/em><\/a>\u201d) and has a column about creative adult <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Third_culture_kid\" target=\"_blank\">TCKs<\/a> at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/thedisplacednation.com\/category\/cool-columns\/tck-talent\/\" target=\"_blank\">TheDisplacedNation.com<\/a>. She is also the co-host of the intercultural podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/gb\/podcast\/hapa-happy-hour\/id284433803?mt=2\" target=\"_blank\">Hapa Happy Hour<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Her solo show, <a href=\"http:\/\/cargocollective.com\/aliencitizen\" target=\"_blank\"><em>ALIEN CITIZEN: An Earth Odyssey<\/em><\/a>, had its world premiere at the Asylum Lab in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hollywood\" target=\"_blank\">Hollywood<\/a> in May 2013. It had its Off Off Broadway debut at Stage Left Studio in September 2013. Since then it has been performed at Princeton, M.I.T., Wesleyan, Williams, Augustana (SD), Carleton, and Santa Clara University in the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States\" target=\"_blank\">USA<\/a>. It was the closing keynote at the Families in Global Transition (FIGT) 2014 conference. It also began its tour of international schools and US Embassies in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Panama\" target=\"_blank\">Panama<\/a>; was sponsored by the API Cultural Center at the United States of Asian America Festival in San Francisco; and had its international theatrical debut at Tjarnarb\u00ed\u00f3 in <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Reykjav%C3%ADk\" target=\"_blank\">Reykjav\u00edk, Iceland<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you get into traveling?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My dad worked for <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Xerox\" target=\"_blank\">Xerox<\/a> (they made photocopiers) back when they were as big as <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apple_Inc.\" target=\"_blank\">Apple<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Google\" target=\"_blank\">Google<\/a> are now, and they moved us from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Guatemala\" target=\"_blank\">Guatemala<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Costa_Rica\" target=\"_blank\">Costa Rica<\/a> to the USA to Panama to the USA again to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Morocco\" target=\"_blank\">Morocco<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Egypt\" target=\"_blank\">Egypt<\/a>. Some of my happiest memories from my youth are of the family vacations we were so fortunate to take in different countries.<\/p>\n<p>I came back to the USA for college on the east coast, graduated and moved to the west coast for a career in the entertainment industry, and have been here ever since.
