The conference is designed to promote greater understanding of the cross-cultural encounters that led to the creation of interracial families and encourage research that examines how mixed-race individuals living in East Asia have negotiated their identities. Scholars working on the contemporary period are also welcome to apply.<\/p>\n<p>All participants will be expected to provide a draft of their paper approximately 4 weeks before the conference to allow discussants adequate time to prepare their comments before the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Participants will be invited to submit their original research for consideration in the Center\u2019s peer-reviewed journal, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.usfca.edu\/asia-pacific\/perspectives\" target=\"_blank\">Asia Pacific Perspectives<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should e-mail (by <strong>September 15, 2015<\/strong>) the following to <em><a href=\"mailto:centerasiapacific@usfca.edu?subject=Multiracial Identities in Asia\" target=\"_blank\">centerasiapacific@usfca.edu<\/a><\/em>, subject line, \u201cMultiracial Identities in Asia\u201d:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>300 word (maximum) abstract<\/li>\n<li>Curriculum Vitae<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please share this call with any scholars that may be interested.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact for Questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:mdale3@usfca.edu\" target=\"_blank\">Melissa S.
