As would Walter Scott, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shooting_of_Walter_Scott\" target=\"_blank\">the African-American man who was shot in the back in South Carolina<\/a> fleeing a white police officer who then made an unsuccessful attempt to frame Scott for provoking his own destruction.<\/p>\n<p>If only <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Death_of_Sandra_Bland\" target=\"_blank\">Sandra Bland hadn\u2019t been so rude and had put out her cigarette when asked<\/a>, no matter her constitutionally protected rights to both. If only <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shooting_of_Samuel_DuBose\" target=\"_blank\">Samuel DuBose had not tried to pull his car away<\/a> from a Cincinnati university officer who then proceeded to empty a shell into his skull.<\/p>\n<p><em>If only.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The question persists: Why do they run? Why do they run? Why don\u2019t they just cooperate with the police? This is America, after all: a country where one is presumed innocent until proved guilty.<\/p>\n<p>I know why. I am a black man, and I have been arrested.
