The 21-year-old is traveling with an African drum that he <a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/p\/oPH7E7pJf2\/\" target=\"_blank\">plays during his downtime along the journey.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The drum isn\u2019t the only reason he stands out. He\u2019s a black migrant in a country where few people are of African descent&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;As Hondurans are being forced to flee their country, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Garifuna_people\" target=\"_blank\">Garifuna<\/a>, who have historically been shunned by society, are increasingly being uprooted from their homes on the Caribbean coast.<\/p>\n<p>Garifuna (\u201cGarinagu\u201d in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Garifuna_language\" target=\"_blank\">Garifuna language<\/a>) are the descendants of slaves brought from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Central_Africa\" target=\"_blank\">Central Africa<\/a> and indigenous Caribbean people, including <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Arawak\" target=\"_blank\">Arawaks<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Island_Caribs\" target=\"_blank\">Island Caribs<\/a>.
