He presented an abstracted yet alluring version of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/India\" target=\"_blank\">India<\/a> without even a semblance of authenticity. Korla represented the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Far_East\" target=\"_blank\">Far East<\/a> as viewed through the eyes of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Western_world\" target=\"_blank\">West<\/a>. That speech comparing rubies to wisdom, for instance, comes not from anything in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hinduism\" target=\"_blank\">Hindu religion<\/a> but is a paraphrase of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Proverbs+8%3A11&amp;version=NKJV\" target=\"_blank\">Proverbs 8:11<\/a> from the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Old_Testament\" target=\"_blank\">Old Testament<\/a>. Even more obviously, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hammond_organ\" target=\"_blank\">electric organ<\/a> is not remotely Indian in nature. From what I can determine, the instrument was largely developed and popularized in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States\" target=\"_blank\">United States<\/a>. However, the eerie and unearthly tones Pandit\/Redd was able to conjure from it seemed to transport listeners to an exotic world of mystery, some indefinable place far away.
