The project was the brainchild of <a href=\"http:\/\/news.stlpublicradio.org\/people\/emanuele-berry\" target=\"_blank\">Emanuele Berry<\/a>, one of the founding producers of We Live Here, and it&#8217;s still one of our favorite episodes \u2014 not just because we miss Emanuele (who is on a Fulbright in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Macau\" target=\"_blank\">Macau, China<\/a>), but also because the stories and interactions in this podcast are poignant and thought provoking.<\/p>\n<p>Since this originally aired, the question of what it means to be called biracial, or multi-racial came up in the news. Actor <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Taye_Diggs\" target=\"_blank\">Taye Diggs<\/a> released a book late in 2015 called <em><a href=\"http:\/\/us.macmillan.com\/books\/9781250047199\" target=\"_blank\">Mixed Me<\/a><\/em>.
