The theme remains central to at least three recent best sellers: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.danzysenna.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Danzy Senna&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=8347\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Caucasia<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.colsonwhitehead.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Colson Whitehead&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Intuitionist\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Intuitionist<\/em><\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Philip_Roth\" target=\"_blank\">Philip Roth&#8217;s<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=14387\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Human Stain<\/em><\/a>. Roth&#8217;s novel <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Human_Stain_(film)\" target=\"_blank\">made it to the big screen<\/a> this fall, just as <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Devil_in_a_Blue_Dress_(film)\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Devil in a Blues Dress<\/em><\/a>, the adaptation of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Devil_in_a_Blue_Dress\" target=\"_blank\">Walter Mosley&#8217;s novel<\/a> starring <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Denzel_Washington\" target=\"_blank\">Denzel Washington<\/a>, did in 1995.
