The main aspects of the past and present of racism in Brazil are discussed, such as whitening, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=14551\" target=\"_blank\"><em>mestizaje<\/em><\/a>, and the ideology of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=22166\" target=\"_blank\">racial democracy<\/a>, and some additional data are presented.
