All I ever really knew was that I was from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Milwaukee\" target=\"_blank\">Milwaukee<\/a>, but recently, I took an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Genealogical_DNA_test\" target=\"_blank\">Ancestry DNA test<\/a> and discovered that my ancestors are from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ghana\" target=\"_blank\">Ghana<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nigeria\" target=\"_blank\">Nigeria<\/a>. It changed everything for me. It helped me know that my history did not begin with being adopted. It did not begin with slavery. It\u2019s even part of why I wear this <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Afro\" target=\"_blank\">Afro<\/a> now.
