He reassured them they had nothing to fear from the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/African_National_Congress\" target=\"_blank\">ANC<\/a> government once he left office&#8230; that his dream of a free and equal society for all <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/South_Africa\" target=\"_blank\">South Africa\u2019s<\/a> citizens would\u00a0continue in the hearts and minds of his successors. Now, twenty years later,\u00a0with\u00a0discriminatory practices affecting their\u00a0economic, social and cultural rights,\u00a0<em>Word of Honour: Reclaiming Mandela\u2019s Promise<\/em>,\u00a0illuminates the story of a people questioning the fate of their Coloured identity in the new South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>From the Director of the award winning historical documentary, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt1504242\" target=\"_blank\"><em>I\u2019m Not Black, I\u2019m Coloured: Identity Crisis at the Cape of Good Hope<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0Kiersten Dunbar Chace blends poetry, landscape imagery, and rare archive footage with a collection of powerful, indigenous voices who share their insight and experience regarding the issues facing their respective communities. Presented as regional vignettes,\u00a0<em>Word of Honour<\/em> is an introspective look\u00a0into South Africa&#8217;s young democracy\u00a0as well as\u00a0a meditation on what may be looming on the horizon. In order to weave this\u00a0rich tapestry of post-<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Apartheid\" target=\"_blank\">aparthei<\/a>d\u00a0conversations, Chace traveled 5,000 miles across South Africa with an all-South African crew to the townships of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/City_of_Cape_Town\" target=\"_blank\">Cape Town<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Durban\" target=\"_blank\">Durban<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Port_Elizabeth\" target=\"_blank\">Port Elizabeth<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Johannesburg\" target=\"_blank\">Johannesburg<\/a> and the rural desert village of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Riemvasmaak\" target=\"_blank\">Riemvasmaak<\/a>.
