In the world of American ballet, Misty Copeland<\/a> is the exception. As the first black woman to become a principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre<\/a>, Copeland knows what it\u2019s like to be one of the few women of color to break through. That\u2019s why when President Barack Obama <\/a>asked her to visit Cuba<\/a> as part of a sports envoy program designed to further strengthen relations between the United States<\/a> and the Caribbean<\/a> nation, Misty felt struck by the number of brown bodies she saw at the prestigious Ballet Nacional de Cuba<\/a>.<\/p>\n
