I count. <em>Palenquero<\/em>, <em>negro<\/em>.\u2019 It ended with the confident words of <a href=\"http:\/\/mariaarboleda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maria Eugenia Arboleda<\/a>, a famous <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Afro-Colombians\" target=\"_blank\">AfroColombian<\/a> actress: \u2018My people, in this census, count yourself!\u2019 This was followed by the some fifteen <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Afro-Colombians\" target=\"_blank\">Afro-Colombians<\/a> featured in the commercial exclaiming in unison: \u2018Proud to be Afro-Colombian!\u2019 With images of people of various skin tones, urban Afro-Colombians as well as farmers and people in traditional clothes, and music in the background that was not easily identifiable with any specific region in the country, the commercial\u2019s message was clear: they were all AfroColombian.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Tianna S.
