She will join <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leedsbeckett.ac.uk\/carnegie-school-of-education\/\" target=\"_blank\">Leeds Beckett\u2019s Carnegie School of Education<\/a> on Monday 3 April from the University of Leeds, where she is currently Associate Professor, giving a boost to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Higher_Education_Statistics_Agency\" target=\"_blank\">Higher Education Statistics Agency<\/a> (HESA) data, which shows that there were only 25 Black female Professors in the UK in the academic year 2015\/16.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Tate has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?tag=shirley-anne-tate\" target=\"_blank\">written widely<\/a> on topics including the body, \u2018mixed race\u2019, beauty, and the cultures of skin.
