But pretending that this is the only way to lead an \u201cauthentically\u201d black life and have \u201cauthentically\u201d black children is a problematic mess.<\/p>\n<p>When we (the black community) talk about light skin privilege, many people want to simplify the conversation about <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Discrimination_based_on_skin_color\" target=\"_blank\">colorism<\/a> to \u201cwe\u2019re all black\u201d, \u201cthe police see you as black.\u201d Isn\u2019t this argument more true for non-white <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=5864\" target=\"_blank\">passing<\/a> mixed blacks?
