In reality, the racial fluidity she preaches is a one-way street<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rachel_Dolezal\" target=\"_blank\">Rachel Dolezal<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2017\/feb\/25\/rachel-dolezal-not-going-stoop-apologise-grovel\">the white woman who for more than 10 years pretended she was black<\/a>, promotes herself as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2015\/jun\/16\/transracial-definition-destructive-rachel-dolezal-spokane-naacp\">transracial<\/a> in her new memoir, published this week. How seriously are we expected to take this latest incarnation?<\/p>\n<p>Dolezal, who recently changed her name to Nkechi Diallo, a mixture of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Igbo_language\" target=\"_blank\">Nigerian Igbo<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fula_language\" target=\"_blank\">Fula<\/a>, claims that her book, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=49691\" target=\"_blank\"><em>In Full Color: Finding My Place in a Black and White World<\/em><\/a>, was written partly \u201cto just encourage people to be exactly who they are\u201d.
