Using her piece <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/68429324\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Face of the Enemy<\/em><\/a>, on the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Internment_of_Japanese_Americans\" target=\"_blank\">Japanese Internment<\/a>, from her solo show <a href=\"http:\/\/artragegallery.org\/rationalize-perpetuate\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Rationalize and Perpetuate<\/em><\/a>, and her <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Video_installation\" target=\"_blank\">video installations<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandrastephens.com\/images\/snowwhiteremixed_icon.png\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Snow White Remixed<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sandrastephens.com\/art09_11_purity.html\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Purity, Sanctity, and Corporeality<\/em><\/a>, she reflects on how race and gender are much more open in the lives of children; the questioning of the idea of \u201cpurity\u201d and its relationship to whiteness; and visual culture and its effects on identity.
