In an effort to preserve the \u201cpurity\u201d of the white race, this law enshrined the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=3208\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one-drop rule<\/a>, legally designating anyone with even one drop of African blood as black.
