They needed to feel that he would look out for them. One way to do that was to emphasize the white part of his identity \u2026 With <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Meghan_Markle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan Markle<\/a>, people want to correct the cognitive dissonance where [in their minds] black women aren\u2019t princesses or duchesses. If she\u2019s half-white, then that\u2019s closer to the reality that makes sense. There\u2019s a lot of people who are uncomfortable with the idea of a black person in such a position.
