EXCLUSIVE:<\/strong> Rebecca Hall<\/a> has set up Passing<\/em><\/a>, an adaptation based on Nella Larsen\u2019s<\/a> 1920s Harlem Renaissance novel<\/a> that explores the practice of racial passing<\/a>, a term used for a person classified as a member of one racial group who seeks to be accepted by a different racial group. Hall has penned the script and will direct in her feature helming debut, with Westworld<\/em><\/a> star Tessa Thompson<\/a> and Oscar nominee Ruth Negga<\/a> attached to star in the film.<\/p>\n

Margot Hand<\/a> of Picture Films and Oren Moverman<\/a> of Sight Unseen are producing, with Angela Robinson<\/a> serving as executive producer.<\/p>\n

First published in 1929, Passing<\/em><\/a> follows the unexpected reunion of two high school friends, Clare Kendry (Negga) and Irene Redfield (Thompson), whose renewed acquaintance ignites a mutual obsession that threatens both of their carefully constructed realities…<\/p>\n
