I put pressure on myself to lose all the baby weight in three months, and scheduled a small tour to assure I would do it. Looking back, that was crazy. I was still breastfeeding when I performed the Revel shows in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Atlantic_City,_New_Jersey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atlantic City<\/a> in 2012. After the twins, I approached things very differently&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<strong>Ancestry<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I come from a lineage of broken male-female relationships, abuse of power, and mistrust. Only when I saw that clearly was I able to resolve those conflicts in my own relationship. Connecting to the past and knowing our history makes us both bruised and beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>I researched my ancestry recently and learned that I come from a slave owner who fell in love with and married a slave. I had to process that revelation over time. I questioned what it meant and tried to put it into perspective. I now believe it\u2019s why God blessed me with my twins. Male and female energy was able to coexist and grow in my blood for the first time.
