The burgeoning actor returned for Season 2 of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/FX_(TV_channel)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FX\u2019s<\/a> critically acclaimed dramedy \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Atlanta_(TV_series)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atlanta<\/a>,\u201d unpacking more layers of her character Van in some particularly memorable episodes. (One scene from the episode \u201cChampagne Papi\u201d took on new life thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Drake_(musician)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Drake<\/a>, who included one of her lines at the end of his No. 1 hit \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/In_My_Feelings_(song)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In My Feelings<\/a>.\u201d) This summer, she reached an even wider audience with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Deadpool_2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deadpool 2<\/a>,\u201d receiving accolades for her performance as Domino, a mutant whose superpower is luck.<\/p>\n<p>And last month Ms. Beetz received her first <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emmy_Award\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emmy<\/a> nomination, for best supporting actress in a comedy for \u201cAtlanta.\u201d As someone who suffers from severe anxiety, however, the awards recognition and the increased visibility that comes with it have not been easy to process. \u201cI don\u2019t even know if I should say this publicly, but I feel kind of like, \u2018O.K., cool,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad that shows like \u2018Atlanta\u2019 and our other contemporaries are having an opportunity to be seen and to be appreciated,\u201d she continued, \u201cand I\u2019m glad that I can contribute in that way. That\u2019s really what I\u2019m happy about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a phone interview, Ms. Beetz discussed exploring new facets of Van, her own biracial identity and experiencing anxiety and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Impostor_syndrome\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">impostor syndrome<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Cinema_of_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hollywood<\/a>.
