She worked at <em>Elle<\/em> magazine and then moved into celebrity journalism. The irony is not lost on me.\u201d&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;Biracial in ethnic derivation, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Genderqueer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nonbinary<\/a> in gender identification, gay in sexual orientation, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wiktionary.org\/wiki\/multihyphenate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">multi-hyphenate<\/a> in creative aspiration, Stenberg embodies a similar blurring of boundaries. She grew up in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Los_Angeles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Los Angeles<\/a> with her African American mother and Danish father, commuting from their modest <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Leimert_Park,_Los_Angeles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leimert Park<\/a> neighborhood to the far tonier <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wildwood_School\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wildwood School<\/a>. Her first movie role was in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Colombiana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Colombiana<\/a>,\u201d as a young version of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zoe_Saldana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Zoe Saldana<\/a>. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/The_Hunger_Games_(film)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hunger Games<\/a>\u201d \u2014 just her second film \u2014 was seen by tens of millions of people around the world.
