Some of us are just now coming of age.\u201d ~ Rebekka White, Black German<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Out of the approximately 95,000 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brown_Babies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. Occupation babies<\/a> born in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Germany\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Germany<\/a> shortly after <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/World_War_II\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WWII<\/a>, there were approximately 5,000 of us, Post WWII <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Afro-Germans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Afro-German<\/a> children or so-called Negro <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixedracestudies.org\/?p=451\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mulatto<\/a> babies, better known in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United States<\/a> as Germany\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brown_Babies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brown Babies<\/a>.\u201d In 1952, the SPD (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Social_Democratic_Party_of_Germany\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Social Democratic Party of Germany<\/a>) deemed that we formed a special group, presenting a human and racial problem of a special nature.
