She is Jamaican and Irish, with east and south Asian elements thrown in for good measure.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018My mum is second generation Jamaican and my dad second generation Irish \u2013 although my great grandparents on my mum\u2019s side are also part Indian and Chinese,\u2019 Siobhan tells <em>Metro.co.uk<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018On dad\u2019s side, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Grandparent\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nana<\/a> is from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Longford\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Longford<\/a> and grandpa was from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/County_Galway\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">County Galway<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Republic_of_Ireland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ireland<\/a>. On mum\u2019s, grandma and grandad are from <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saint_Catherine_Parish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St Catherine\u2019s<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Saint_Elizabeth_Parish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St Elizabeth<\/a>, parish towns in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jamaica\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jamaica<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Both sides of my family came from large households and farming backgrounds. They came to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/England\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">England<\/a> as immigrants in their teens and early twenties, hoping <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_Kingdom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Britain<\/a> would open up more opportunities for their children \u2013 even though this move came with its own challenges.\u2019&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;For so many mixed-race people, where you fit in the world depends on how other people perceive you.
