Clearly, racial stereotypes are still a touchy subject. So is it OK for minorities to dress in whiteface? What if it\u2019s meant to represent an inner conflict among people of mixed-race identity?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis question implies that there is such a thing as reverse racism, and I don\u2019t think we can even ask that without discussing the systemic inequality and racial hierarchies that result in internalized racism experienced by historically underrepresented groups,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/theatredance.ku.edu\/nicole-hodges-persley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nicole Hodges Persley<\/a>, University of Kansas associate professor of theatre.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcmeltingpot.com\/index.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Melting Pot Theatre<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kansas_City,_Missouri\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kansas City, Missouri<\/a>, goes there this month when Hodges Persley directs an <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Avant-garde\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">avant-garde<\/a> play from 1964 titled \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Funnyhouse_of_a_Negro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Funnyhouse of a Negro<\/a>\u201d by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Adrienne_Kennedy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Adrienne Kennedy<\/a>.
