It\u2019s a story about \u2018others\u2019 that I think is necessary and I think all stories about \u2018others\u2019 are necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the newest addition to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm1244069\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kenya Barris<\/a>\u2019 \u201cish\u201d universe, Gist and fellow executive producer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm2831742\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peter Saji<\/a> shine a light on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Black-ish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Black-ish<\/a>\u201d Johnson family matriarch Rainbow\u2019s (played by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tracee_Ellis_Ross\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tracee Ellis Ross<\/a> in \u201cBlack-ish\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm8585540\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arica Himmel<\/a> in \u201cMixed-ish\u201d) origin story. The pilot begins when the hippie <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Commune#United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">commune<\/a> in which she was raised gets raided and her family has to move to the suburbs.
