rel=\"noopener\">President Barack Obama<\/a> and first lady <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Michelle_Obama\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michelle Obama<\/a> on Tuesday responded to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Killing_of_Daunte_Wright\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">killing of 20-year-old Daunte Wright<\/a> with a call to \u201creimagine policing\u201d in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">America<\/a>, noting with some incredulity that Wright\u2019s needless death came as jurors heard arguments in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/State_v._Chauvin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trial of Derek Chauvin<\/a> for the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Killing_of_George_Floyd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">murder of George Floyd<\/a> barely 10 miles away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur hearts are heavy over yet another shooting of a Black man, Daunte Wright, at the hands of police,\u201d the two said in a written statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that this could happen even as the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Minneapolis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minneapolis<\/a> is going through the trial of Derek Chauvin and reliving the heart-wrenching murder of George Floyd indicates not just how important it is to conduct a full and transparent investigation, but also just how badly we need to reimagine policing and public safety in this
